Watercolour flowers
Welcome to the Nik Nak Box!
Recently I received a card from a friend and loved the design on the front. This card inspired me to replicate the image, but using my own creativity.
The top image is the original card and the next ones are my own ideas.
*Note: I use a watercolour brush that has an in-built water container and a small two-tied watercolour palette, by the brand Koh-I-Noor Hardtmuth.
Firstly, I started off by creating small flowers shapes using a pink colour. I then worked my way down the card in a gradient pattern, with purple and blue.
After that, I outlined each flower shape with a gold gel pen. My gel pen is not particularly strong, so I wasn't sure how it would look but it turned out okay (I would recommend a proper gold pen though, as it would give a more definite line and accentuate the flowers).
Then, using a white gel pen, I created little lines or dots in the flowers like in the original card.
The post card is finished!
While I am very happy with the end product, I would like to create another card that has more flowers on it, like the original card, and maybe add some branches.
If you are interested in creating a card like this, it is very easy to do and you could definitely use different colours and backgrounds to create your own unique look :)
I hope you enjoyed this post!
