Card-making magic
A simple tutorial on how to make a card design and what designs to use!
You will need (for any card design):
- Coloured or plain white cardboard
-Lots of decorations, ribbon, glitter and stamps
-Pieces of decorated/patterned paper or card
-Glue
-Card cutter/scissors
-Ruler
-Pencil/pen
Tip: You can use paper to make the card but cardboard is better. Don't use really strong cardboard, just use cardboard that you find in a craft shop or a dollar shop.
1. Choose the colour of card you are going to use. I have chosen purple.
2. Fold the cardboard into the size you want.
3. Cut the paper using scissors or a card cutter.
4. Once you have the cardboard cut, you need to make a stronger fold on it then using a ruler, go over the card to make it neat and strong.
5. Decide what patterns of paper and cut outs you are going to use. Don't stick them down, just make a rough layout.
Tip: When choosing your paper design, pick colours and styles that complement each other or the occasion you are going to use the card.
6. Once you are happy with your design, make a mark on the paper with pencil where you want to cut off the extra paper.
7. Cut off the extra paper.
8. Once you are happy with the length of the paper, stick everything down.
9. Now you can start adding the details to your card like string, sequins, stamps, other cut outs, stickers and more!!
10. Once you have chosen your details, stick them down. I am making a thank you card so the stamp says thank you on it. If you can't have any stamps or ink, you can always write or print out the message you want to say.
11. Now your card is finished! You can write on it, give it to a friend or put it on display!
